Thigh lift

What is a thigh lift?

For a thigh lift, the surgeon removes the excess skin and fat from the inside of the thighs (medial thigh lift) or from the bottom (posterior thigh lift). If necessary, he will recommend liposuction for the entire thigh and knee, or for the back of the buttocks.

Thigh lift procedure

Before the procedure, the doctor draws a symmetrical pattern in the shape of a triangular wedge on your buttocks. He marks the areas to be treated on the inside of your thighs, or on your bottom. He then removes the excess skin and fat and stitches up the wound. This wound will be in the groin or in the back buttock fold. In extreme cases of excess skin the surgeon draws an additional wedge shape from the knee to the groin, and the scar will take on a T shape: one in the groin and one from the groin to the knee. A thigh lift is performed under general anaesthetic.
